A history professor at UNC Chapel Hill, Kathleen DuVal is also the author of several books, including The Native Ground: Indians and Colonists in the Heart of the Continent and Independence Lost: Lives on the Edge of the American Revolution. Her new work is Native Nations: A Millennium in North America, which the Wall Street Journal calls “an essential American history…Examining both past and present from an indigenous rather than a European perspective, [the author] fuses a millennium of Native American history into a thought-provoking, persuasive whole.” DuVal discussed Native Nations with Stephen Usery during a three-part interview in June.
