Matthew Pearl is the author of multiple bestselling works of fiction and narrative nonfiction, including (among the latter category) Save Our Souls: The True Story of a Castaway Family, Treachery, and Murder and The Taking of Jemima Boone: Colonial Settlers, Tribal Nations, and the Kidnap That Shaped America. His latest novel is The Award, in which, says Library Journal, he “delivers a serpentine-coiled plot and convincing characters that make this novel hard to put down.” Pearl discussed The Award with WYPL’s Stephen Usery in the spring.
