A longtime journalist and independent scholar, Biographers International Organization’s president, Steve Paul, is also the author of Hemingway at Eighteen: The Pivotal Year That Launched an American Legend and, most recently, the award-winning Literary Alchemist: The Writing Life of Evan S. Connell. Says the Wall Street Journal, “[Literary Alchemist] has pinned down a hard-to-pin-down character. If it draws more readers to Connell’s astonishing body of work, then Mr. Paul has done his job.” Paul spoke with fellow BIO member Jenny Skoog late last month.
