An occasional series in which writers speak for themselves.
A former politician who represented Texas in both chambers of Congress, Democrat-turned-Republican Phil Gramm is also an economist and author. His new book, co-authored with Donald J. Boudreaux, is The Triumph of Economic Freedom: Debunking the Seven Great Myths of American Capitalism. Lawrence Summers says that this “readable and important book makes a strong case that the received version of economic history taught in high schools and colleges across the country is off the mark and that its errors distort current policy debates.”
Gramm discussed The Triumph of Economic Freedom with author/attorney Talmage Boston last week. Listen to the podcast here.
