Presenting Washington Unbound
- By Norah Vawter and Gregory Luce
- April 18, 2025
Meet the DC area’s newest literary magazine!

We’re thrilled to announce our new online journal, Washington Unbound, which will feature reviews of books by DC-area authors; interviews with writers, publishers, and organizers; a calendar of local literary events; and much more! We are writers who met while working for a local arts nonprofit, and we haven’t stopped talking about books ever since. Washington Unbound is the result of those conversations.
Publishing a new piece each Tuesday, we aim to be a resource for regional writers, readers, and literary entities. In these troubled and frightening times, we know that literature is more important than ever. At Washington Unbound, we intend to champion diverse voices, center marginalized communities, oppose censorship, and be an active participant in the collective conversation. Words are powerful, and we are honored to be speaking.
Be a part of things by sharing news of publications, events, and whatever other literary happenings you’re planning, and if you’d like to write for us, send an email to [email protected].
We’re so excited to launch Washington Unbound into the world, and we invite you to come along for the ride!
[Editor’s note: Gregory Luce will appear at this year’s Gaithersburg Book Festival on Sat., May 17th.]
