An occasional series in which writers speak for themselves.

Presidential historian Lindsay M. Chervinsky is the author of multiple scholarly articles, columns, and editorials. Her first book, The Cabinet: George Washington and the Creation of an American Institution, was published in 2020 and recently came out in paperback. The work, says the Wall Street Journal, “helps us understand pivotal moments in the 1790s and the creation of an independent, effective executive.” Chervinsky discussed The Cabinet with WYPL’s Stephen Usery in February.
