
Susi Wyss is the author of The Civilized World (Henry Holt), a book of fiction set across Africa that was largely inspired by her twenty-year career managing international projects in HIV/ AIDS and women’s health. In addition to receiving the Maria Thomas Fiction Award, The Civilized World was named a “Book to Pick Up Now” by O, the Oprah Magazine. Born in DC and currently based in Silver Spring, Susi has received awards from the Maryland State Arts Council and several other arts organizations.
